DAYTON, Ohio (August 1, 2017) – Onstage Publications announced today the addition of more than a dozen new clients including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra as well as a newly expanded product line.

The Dayton-based company said the list of new clients represents a 20 percent growth in markets served over last season and places it closer to publishing in 100 markets across the nation. Onstage Publications is best known for publishing performing arts program books, but in the last year has looked to expand its offering to solidify its competitive edge and better serve its clients.

“Our goal is no longer just to increase our reach to clients across the nation, but to also expand what we are able to offer them.” said Norman Orlowski, president of Onstage Publications.

Orlowski said his company is successful because it becomes an extension of the performing arts organizations’ marketing team, by taking on work that frees them up to focus on what they do best – producing quality performances.

Onstage will transform its mobile program book Stageview to be branded for each individual performing arts group using it. Previously, Stageview offered patrons a digital form of the paper program book, but under a generic template. Starting with the 2017 performance season, patrons can download a program book app found under a performing arts group’s own brand.

Onstage Publications is also expanding its product line to include digital signage. Performing arts groups can engage Onstage Publications to do everything from installing to managing content on digital signage seen both inside and outside of the venue. Onstage Publications can handle the management of existing signage or install new signage through a partnership with Skykit.

“This allows our company to offer total audience engagement to a performing arts group’s marketing department,” Orlowski said. “Digital signage is one more vital piece of marketing that can often be hard for a performing art group’s marketing department to effectively manage.”

Dallas Symphony Orchestra recently retained Onstage Publications to publish its program books after doing them in-house for three years. In the time the group published its own program books, it came to realize how important it was in the total patron experience, but also that it was not an area where they wanted to pour their time and resources.

“The program book can get lost in a list of competing priorities,” said Sean Kelly, vice president of marketing at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. “Selling tickets, getting donations – these are the priorities that take up the majority of our time, which they should. It doesn’t mean the program book doesn’t have real value, but sometimes it can be hard work to make your way down the priority list given our constraints on resources, time and personnel.”

Dallas Symphony Orchestra is one of 13 new contracts recently secured by Onstage Publications. Other new clients include Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, Corpus Christi Symphony, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, American Modern Ensemble, Stockton Sympony Association, the National Philharmonic at Strathmore, Oz Arts Nashville, Victoria Beach Festival, South Shore Music Circus, Festival Mozaic and Seminole Theatre. Work for these groups either has begun or will begin for their 2017 performance season.

NEW YORK (August 1, 2017) – American Modern Ensemble has engaged Onstage Publications to publish its program books beginning in the 2017-2018 season.

Onstage will manage and publish the arts groups’ traditional paper program books and also offer its Stageview product, the world’s first and only app that allows program books to be viewed by patrons on their mobile device.

Stageview not only changes how patrons view their program books, but also transforms the way performing arts groups and their advertisers are able to interact with those filling the venues’ seats. With Stageview, performing arts groups are able to utilize new marketing techniques such as surveying patrons, and tracking which ads they are viewing and how long each held their interest.

Performing arts program books are an integral piece to the overall experience while attending a live performance. However, the program books are a huge cost, and can add a lot of work to a performing arts organization’s staff.

“We become an extension of the performing arts organizations’ marketing team by taking over the advertising sales, layout and design, and publishing of the program books so they can do what they do best – produce quality performances for their community,” said Norman Orlowski, president of Onstage Publications.

Onstage works with nearly 100 performing arts organizations throughout the country. The partnership with American Modern Ensemble is one of more than a dozen new clients for Onstage in 2017 that have helped boost its market presence by 20 percent across the nation.
